Dispensation Overview

Change of Meeting Date

Option a) – For reasons outside your control, you would like to rearrange a regular meeting to a new date, within 14 days of the original.

You can make this request to the Provincial Grand Master, using the online Provincial Dispensation Request form.
There will be no cost to the Lodge if the request is made with sufficient notice.

Option b) – If the requested new date is not within the 14-day limit, you will require a Grand Lodge dispensation.

You need to complete the Grand Lodge Dispensation form, and send this to the Provincial Grand Secretary, (with a cheque for the fee), who will liaise with the PGM and Grand Lodge on your behalf.
There is a cost to the Lodge, as specified in the current fees sheet.
Grand Lodge dispensations need to be processed by Grand Lodge at least 21 days before the proposed meeting date. Ensure you send it to Province with sufficient time.
If not submitted in time, Grand Lodge will charge a significantly higher fee, for a dispensation known as a ‘Nunc Pro Tunc’

Additional Meeting

A Lodge may request an additional meeting, for a number of reasons.
e.g. a special occasion, or to advance a new candidate, etc.
– You can make the request for an ‘Emergency Meeting’ to the Provincial Grand Master, using the online Provincial Dispensation Request form.

There will be no cost to the Lodge if the request is made with sufficient notice.
NB. The agenda on the summons for such an emergency meeting must only contain the business specified in the dispensation request.
