On Saturday 28th September I went along to the Burley and Wharfedale Scouts and Guides Headquarters , it’s not a hut, to hand over a Defibrillator donated by the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust, also to attend the official opening of the Headquarters itself.
The building cost £500.000 and the money was raised within 5 years with no large donations just weekly fund raising. The interior is superb and ideal for the purpose it was intended and accommodates three hundred and fifty children a week! I was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the Scouts, Guides and parents and delighted to represent the Trust in presenting them with the Defibrillator which they were genuinely pleased to receive.
