On 30th September 2017 the Prestigious Mark Provincial Director of Ceremonies Lodge No 1813 graced the Province of West Yorkshire by holding its meeting at Harrogate Masonic Hall, its Worshipful Master this year being none other than our own Past Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Jim Truswell.
The Lodge, which was Consecrated in 2001, meets twice a year, with its ‘Election’ Meeting usually being held in the Worshipful Master’s own Province. R.W.Bro. Jim was, of course, our own Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies from 2001 to 2004, before being appointed Deputy Provincial Grand Master in 2004 and Provincial Grand Master in 2007.
V.W.Bro. Richard Puttrell, our immediate Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, and Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies from 2010 to 2014, is also a member and currently Senior Overseer of the Lodge. W.Bro. John Vause, our present Provincial Grand D.C. was also elected as a Joining Member on the day.
The Past Deputy Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Keith Emmerson, together with the Provincial Grand Masters for Worcestershire, Nottinghamshire and East Lancashire were also in attendance at the meeting, and our Past Assistant P.G.M. Dr. Rod Taylor delivered an excellent Lecture entitled ‘The First Royal Mark Mason’.
Many other West Yorkshire Brethren, including our own Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Jim Steggles, were also present to witness what turned out to be an excellent occasion and a truly superb ceremony. But there again, with a house full of D.C.s, including 3 Provincial Grand Directors of Ceremonies from West Yorkshire, what else would anyone expect !!
Another first for the Province and another excellent day for Mark Masonry.
