A small but select body of Brethren assembled at Castle Grove Masonic Hall for the September meeting of Castle Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1257.After the Director of Ceremonies, Worshipful Brother David Keith had allocated visitors to some of the roles, the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Richard Aldridge opened the Lodge in due form accompanied by pastoral intonations by the Chaplain, Worshipful Brother Roger Ehrlich; these continued throughout the ceremony,
The main business of the Lodge was to demonstrate the Ceremony of Advancement and the candidate, the Lodge Secretary, a youthful character by the name of Worshipful Brother David Readshaw, departed in order that the process could commence, I think that he may have potential! W. Bro. Richard and his team can be justly proud of a task superbly despatched and in this regard special mention to W, Bro Richard who was virtually word perfect, and no books. The Senior Deacon, Brother Jules Boyeldieu, has to be congratulated on a job well done, this being the first time he had been involved in a ceremony, I have no doubt he will impress when they have a candidate for real. Also a mention for the Overseers under the guiding hands of the Master Overseer, Worshipful Brother Michael Singer, and another practice will crack it for them. The signs and secrets were in the hands of a visitor, Worshipful Brother Trevor Bolton, on his way to higher duties but, if asked, I am sure that he will step in the breach again. Good news for all is that they do have a candidate for their next meeting which will take place on Monday 6th November, if you wish to see an impressive Advancement, put it in your diary now and enjoy.
The remaining business of the summons then followed but with a short intervention; this by Worshipful Brother John Maxwell, Elected member of the Charity. He asked that W. Bro David Keith come to the floor when he presented him with his Grand Patron Collaret, next step Gold Award. The Festive Board, well received, the usual Toasts summarily despatched, all wended their ways home after a most pleasant Mark evening.
And as ever, do not forget to smile, be happy, we are Mark Master Masons.
