LINCOLNSHIRE MARK BENEVOLENT FUND FESTIVAL 2018
(AND 150th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE MARK BENEVOLENT FUND)
SATURDAY 7th JULY 2018
Whilst our own West Yorkshire Mark Benevolent Fund Festival concludes in 2023, and has gained much publicity and support from brethren across the Province, you may not be aware that there is a Festival held each year in other Provinces. The last time West Yorkshire hosted such a Festival was in 1988.
Mark Master Masons from all Provinces and their partner are entitled to attend these Festivals and they are not just for the more senior brethren. In fact they are very enjoyable social gatherings where Mark Masons from across the country and their partners can enjoy each other’s company, whilst helping the Province in Festival to celebrate its achievements. They are also an opportunity to meet the Grand Rulers, who attempt to speak to as many present as possible during the evening. The Festival result is then announced at the Festival Dinner which follows.
Next year’s Festival will be rather special, as it will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Mark Benevolent Fund. It will also be held in one of our neighboring Provinces, the Province of Lincolnshire. It will be an excellent occasion, held at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground on Saturday 7th July, with coach transport provided from various local hotels. Some brethren from West Yorkshire are also staying on the Friday night to make it a weekend away.
If you are interested in attending you can download the application forms from the Grand Lodge web site www.glmmm.com or contact W.Bro. Philip Drury who will give you more information on the Festival and how to apply. Philip will be co-ordinating our attendance, so please also let him know if you decide to make your own arrangements. His contact details can be obtained from the Provincial Secretariat, Provincial DC team, Provincial Rulers or by using the ‘Contact’ tab on this web site.
