The meeting was a most enjoyable occasion and remains one not to be missed by Mark Master Masons of the Province, next year 7th April, same venue, make a note now! It is worth noting that there are only 3 Toasts at the Festive Board, the Queen, the Most Worshipful Grand Master and that to the Provincial Grand Master. The latter is always in the hands of the newly appointed Provincial Grand Senior Warden, this time Worshipful Brother John Marrison of Danum Lodge No. 398.

He observed that Right Worshipful Brother James Steggles had successfully directed the Province for the past 5 years and that this had not passed without notice in that he had become a Member of the Grand Masters Royal Ark Council, and also the General Board. This, together with his undoubted commitment to Freemasonry in general and the Degree of Mark Master Mason in particular, has earned him the respect and admiration of all the Brethren of West Yorkshire.

Bro John had also commented that Mrs Joan Steggles, our P. G. M.’s Lady is now a Mark Master Mason which Right Worshipful Brother Jim confirmed, adding that he had flatly refused to invite her today as she would have finished up responding to this Toast. He was delighted to see the new Festival Tie in evidence and looked forward to a virtual sea of maroon when visiting in the coming year; also the 2nd Northern Variety Show on Saturday, 14th April 2018, put this in your diaries now it will be a sell out. Finally he recalled that Worshipful Brother David Cordell had read an article indicating that as we grow older we become less grumpy, looking around the gathering today that should mean that we are in for happy and enjoyable meetings in the years ahead.
