Annual General Meeting

Wednesday, the 18th July and members of the Leeds and District Installed Masters Association gathered at Knaresborough for the Annual General Meeting.

After a very pleasant repast, the meeting was opened by the President, W.Bro. George .T. Wise who, initially whilst addressing the agenda had to cope with the lights continually going out, leaving us in the dark, but not W.Bro. George.  He thanked both his officers and the Brethren for their unstinting support for him in his year which he felt had been highlighted, pointed out by the Secretary, W.Bro. David Fisher, by the initiatives that he had delivered to take the association forward.  He emphasised that the Association was there to encourage visiting in the Mark degree, support Lodges and very importantly the Lodge Representatives.  A cheque for £500 was presented to the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust.

The President then invested his successor, with the new Team being:

President W.Bro.Les Davey.

Senior Vice President, W.Bro. J.Trevor Bolton and

Junior Vice President, W.Bro. Craig Kidd

Wishing them all a happy and successful year in office.

The Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro.  James Steggles then addressed the meeting congratulating W.Bro. Les and his team and paid tribute to the excellent work by W.Bro. George Wise during his stewardship, particularly the chauffeuring duties that W.Bro. George had done on his behalf.  He further informed us that there was to be a gathering at Pontefract, in September, of all the Associations to explore how the excellent work of the Associations could be enhanced.  Also that with effect from 2015, the Associations would be asked to take responsibility for the Stewarding of the Annual Provincial Meeting.

A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
