No less than 51 holiday makers left Brighouse on Saturday 13th August to enjoy a well deserved and in many cases much needed break in Llandudno, courtesy of the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust. The Ladies and Brethren departing on this year’s holiday knew that they would be well looked after in the very capable care of our Welfare Officers, Mrs Judith Mann, Freda Buxton and W.Bro. Phillip Mann, who have provided the support and care needed on these holidays, as well as their other much appreciated Welfare duties in West Yorkshire, over many years.
Despite the weather just before departure (note the open umbrellas) there was nothing but smiles and friendly Yorkshire banter from old and new holiday makers alike as they waited to join the coach. The Provincial Rulers, Representatives of the Trust, several Lodge Almoners and other helpers were also present to see them off and the Provincial Grand Master wished everyone a very happy holiday as they finally boarded the coach to leave.
Sponsored holidays such as this have been a feature of the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust for many years, and have provide welfare relief and created many new friendships and long lasting memories during that time. Seeing the happiness on the faces of this year’s holiday makers, long may that continue.
