All three Provincial Rulers were amongst the many distinguished Brethren who flocked to Mirfield to attend Fearnley Mark Lodge No. 58 on Wednesday 14th October. In addition to a splendid advancement ceremony the Lodge handed over a cheque to the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust for over £4,000.
W Bro Patnick who received the cheque told the Brethren it was the largest he had ever received from a single Lodge in twelve years of working with the Trust.
The funds were raised through the efforts of two Fearnley Brethren, Brothers Martyn Bolt and Rod Dyer who earlier this year took on the London – Edinburgh – London cycle challenge, a gruelling 1400km ride to be completed in five days or less.
The Provincial Grand Master presented the Provincial Mark Yearbook to the candidate, Bro Colin Simmons, at the Festive Board and spoke in glowing terms about the efforts of Brothers Rod and Martyn. He closed by saying that with gift aid the final figure would be nearer to £5,000. A truly superb effort!
