Naming Ceremony & Service of Dedication of the Lifeboat MARK MASON

Angle, South Wales Lifeboat Station on Friday 5th June 2009 at 4pm

The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother James Bennett Truswell, his Wife Lorna, accompanied by the Provincial Grand Secretary, Worshipful Brother Keith Robinson and his Wife, Pauline had the honour and privilege to represent our Province of West Yorkshire at the naming ceremony and dedication of the new state-of the-art Tamar Class Lifeboat at Angle on Friday 5th June.

The Lifeboat is the product of 3 years of fundraising by the RLNI. A £1.6m donation from the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons completed the task to foot the bill for the £2.6m lifeboat.

This significant donation enabled our Order to name the Lifeboat ‘Mark Mason’ at the dedication ceremony by our Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother, His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent GCVO and hand over the Lifeboat to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution to be based at Angle, South Wales.

It was a most moving service of dedication which included a ‘flypast’ by the Royal Navy Air Sea Rescue Helicopter and music by Pembroke Silver Brass Band and Choir.
